Gray Swan AI in Pittsburgh is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to shape the future of AI safety by leading the design, development, and deployment of scalable machine learning models. This role sits at the boundary between research and production, translating novel ideas into systems that withstand adversarial pressure and operate reliably in real‑world environments.

You will work with state‑of‑the‑art architectures, distributed computing, and cloud deployments (AWS/GCP/Azure), mentoring

Qualifications

• Experience building and deploying ML models and systems.
• Expertise in training and deploying deep learning models with PyTorch.
• Strong Python and C++ programming experience.
• Experience with scalable ML pipelines and cloud infra (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Experience in ML research including experimental design and publication communication.
• Nice to have: experience with LLMs, synthetic data, AI safety or security.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced ML models to boost performance.
• Address challenges of resource‑intensive models using distributed systems.
• Advance methodologies for controlling, monitoring, and analyzing models in production.
• Develop approaches to adversarial testing, model evaluation, and robust inference.
• Translate research ideas into scalable AI systems deployed in real‑world settings.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align research with production outcomes.
