Job summary

Gray Swan is seeking an Engineering Manager, Enterprise to lead the team building and scaling the systems powering our AI security platform. You will mentor engineers, set direction for enterprise backend services, and guide cloud architecture across Kubernetes and major cloud providers.

You’ll own foundational systems, drive reliability and performance, work with ML, security, and product teams, and help grow a world-class infrastructure organization in a fast-moving startup.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience building enterprise solutions with backend infrastructure or distributed systems in production environments.
• 2+ years of experience managing, mentoring, or leading software engineering teams.
• Strong technical background in infrastructure, distributed systems, backend engineering, or platform engineering.
• Experience programming in languages such as C/C++, Go, Python, Rust, Java, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of infrastructure engineers focused on ownership and reliability.
• Set technical direction and priorities for enterprise solutions with engineering leadership.
• Oversee design, development, and operation of highly available backend services and distributed systems.
• Guide cloud infrastructure across Kubernetes, AWS, GCP, and Azure.
• Drive internal platform services and tooling to improve developer productivity.
• Establish observability, monitoring, incident response, and deployment practices.
• Partner with ML, security, and product teams to support complex AI workloads.
• Identify opportunities to improve performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Contribute to long-term architecture and technical strategy.
• Participate in hiring to build a world-class infrastructure organization.
