Job summary

Jobtailor in Massachusetts is seeking an experienced RF Systems Engineer to own product evaluation and bring-up across SDR and transceiver platforms. You will drive products from silicon bring-up through manufacturing release and customer deployment, lead RF, mixed-signal, and embedded software verification, and partner with cross-functional teams to define product strategies.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience developing, validating, or bringing complex wireless communication systems to market.
  • Demonstrated success leading technical programs, projects, or engineering teams within RF, wireless, or mixed-signal environments.
  • Strong expertise in Software Defined Radio, RF systems, transceivers, ADCs, DACs, and mixed-signal architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with RF test and measurement equipment including spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, and signal generators.
  • Deep understanding of RF performance metrics including EVM, noise figure, phase noise, spurious performance, linearity, and S-parameters.
  • Experience working across hardware, software, and systems engineering disciplines.
  • Experience with embedded software verification and ARM-based systems.

  • Own product evaluation, characterization, and validation activities for SDR and transceiver platforms
  • Drive products from initial silicon bring-up through manufacturing release and customer deployment
  • Lead RF, mixed-signal, and embedded software verification initiatives
  • Partner with IC design, software, applications, test engineering, systems, and marketing teams to define and execute product strategies
  • Serve as technical focal point for complex product issues, customer escalations, and performance optimization
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers and foster engineering best practices
  • Influence platform architectures, validation methodologies, and automation strategies
  • Debug and analyze complex RF and mixed-signal systems
  • Perform RF measurements including EVM, noise figure, phase noise, linearity, spurious analysis, and S-parameter characterization
  • Validate DSP, embedded software, analog, and digital functionality within integrated radio platforms
  • Present technical findings and recommendations to engineering leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Develop automated validation and characterization solutions
  • Improve test efficiency, measurement accuracy, and product quality through automation
  • Help define laboratory strategies, equipment investments, and validation frameworks
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 7+ years of experience developing, validating, or bringing complex wireless communication systems to market
  • Demonstrated success leading technical programs, projects, or engineering teams within RF, wireless, or mixed-signal environments
  • Strong expertise in Software Defined Radio, RF systems, transceivers, ADCs, DACs, and mixed-signal architectures
  • Hands-on experience with RF test and measurement equipment including spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, and signal generators

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills
  • Experience leading engineers, projects, or technical workstreams within a product development environment
  • Experience with embedded software verification and ARM-based systems
  • Background in cellular, satellite communications, aerospace/defense, broadband, wireless infrastructure, or communications systems
  • Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, C/C++, or C#
  • Experience collaborating with firmware and DSP teams to define and validate advanced signal processing algorithms
