Space-Eyes is seeking a Lead RF Engineer to lead the design, development, integration, and testing of advanced RF systems for our technology platforms.

The role requires deep RF expertise, hands-on development experience, and the ability to drive complex efforts from concept through deployment, collaborating with software, hardware, systems, and product teams in demanding environments.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of RF engineering hands-on experience with RF system design, integration, testing and troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of RF and microwave principles.
  • Experience with RF test equipment (spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes).
  • Experience with RF system characterization, link analysis, noise, interference, propagation and performance analysis.
  • Experience with SDR and digital signal processing concepts.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and develop practical engineering solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical projects or multidisciplinary development efforts.
  • Strong technical documentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead architecture, design, development, and integration of RF systems and subsystems.
  • Develop and evaluate RF architectures, components, antennas, receivers, transmitters, and related hardware.
  • Lead RF system integration, characterization, verification, and validation activities.
  • Design and execute laboratory and field testing to evaluate RF system performance.
  • Analyze RF signals, system performance, interference, propagation, and environmental effects.
  • Support SDR platforms and RF signal processing capabilities.
  • Define technical requirements, specifications, test plans, and engineering documentation.
  • Troubleshoot complex RF hardware, software, and system-level issues.
  • Collaborate with software, embedded, electrical, mechanical, and systems teams throughout the lifecycle.
  • Evaluate RF components, technologies, vendors, and potential solutions.
  • Support prototype development and transition into production-ready systems.
  • Provide mentoring and engineering guidance to team members.
  • Support technical discussions, demonstrations, customer engagements, and proposals.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging RF technologies relevant to company products.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, Telecommunications, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of relevant RF engineering experience, including hands-on experience with RF system design, integration, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of RF and microwave engineering principles.
  • Experience with RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, and related laboratory equipment.
  • Experience with RF system characterization, link analysis, noise, interference, propagation, and performance analysis.
  • Experience with software-defined radios and digital signal processing concepts.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop practical engineering solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical projects, engineering initiatives, or multidisciplinary development efforts.
  • Strong technical documentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience with Counter-UAS (C-UAS), UAS, defense, aerospace, electronic warfare, communications, radar, or related RF systems.
  • Experience developing RF systems for complex electromagnetic environments.
  • Experience with digital signal processing, signal detection, classification, or direction-finding techniques.
  • Experience with SDR platforms and associated development environments.
  • Familiarity with Python, MATLAB, C/C++, or similar engineering and signal-analysis tools.
  • Experience taking RF systems from prototype through integration, field testing, and deployment.
  • Experience supporting U.S. government or Department of Defense programs.
  • Familiarity with applicable spectrum, regulatory, and RF compliance requirements.
