Job summary

Payabli is hiring an Engineering Lead, PayIn to oversee the team that owns how money comes into Payabli. You will manage payment APIs, recurring billing, invoices, hosted pages, and wallets, while ensuring reliability across processors and funding partners.

You’ll drive a culture of speed with safety and partner with AI/Risk teams to enhance real-time risk scoring and automation. You will lead a mature organization, set clear expectations, and build visibility into operations, timelines, and

Qualifications

10+ years building and operating production backend systems with at least 3+ years leading engineering teams.
Experience in payments, gateways, funding, or card/ACH systems is highly valued.
Strong ability to define metrics, set expectations, and scale teams and systems.

Responsibilities

Build a high-performing, distributed engineering team.
Deliver at pace by aligning with product roadmaps and business goals.
Scale payment acceptance and funding workflows across multiple processors and methods.
Maintain production-grade integrations and observability with clear SLIs/SLOs.
Lead AI-enabled risk and automation features within the payment flow.
