Job summary

Abbott Diabetes Care seeks an Engineering Lead in Buffalo Grove, IL to manage qualification of injection molding components and suppliers, lead tooling and process development, and ensure compliance with ADC requirements.

You will guide cross-functional teams, drive start-up to scale-up manufacturing, and provide SME guidance on mold design, validation, and process optimization to improve quality and cost metrics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or closely related discipline.
• Strong understanding of injection molding process and tool design.
• Experience with die design fundamentals, blank development, spring-back compensation and tolerance stack analysis.
• Familiarity with cGMP, FDA and ISO regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Technical leadership in molding process characterization, SIM studies, validation activities.
• Support custom part suppliers in qualification of new/existing molds and process optimization.
• Lead cross-functional teams to meet project goals.
• Provide design, purchase, installation and qualification of injection mold tools and molding equipment.
• Drive activities from start-up to scale-up within ADC requirements.
