Job summary

Abbott Diabetes Care in Buffalo Grove, Illinois seeks an Engineering Lead to manage the technical qualification of injection molding components suppliers and processes. You will lead supplier development for designated components, drive molding optimization, and provide expert design transfer and tooling qualification across projects.

This role requires strong cross-functional collaboration, project management, and deep knowledge of injection molding, tooling, and FDA/ISO regulations to ensure

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering, science, or closely related discipline is desired, or equivalent technical experience plus demonstrated competence.
• Strong understanding of injection molding process and tool design.
• Experience with die design fundamentals, blank development, spring-back compensation and tolerance stack analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage injection molding tool design and supplier qualification.
• Drive molding process optimization, validation activities, and design transfer for new and existing molds.
• Provide technical leadership to suppliers to achieve scale-up and cost reduction within ADC requirements.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to meet project goals and timelines.
• Ensure compliance with cGMP, FDA and ISO standards.
