Job summary

Averity in New York, NY is seeking an Engineering Lead to own the technical direction and day-to-day engineering operations of our web platform. This hands-on role combines architecture, coding excellence, and team leadership to deliver high-quality software at pace.

You will drive code standards and architecture, guide agile processes, mentor engineers, and partner with Product to translate roadmap priorities into actionable engineering work for a distributed team.

Qualifications

• 8+ years software development experience.
• 2+ years engineering team management.
• 1+ years of experience using AI technologies in production.

Responsibilities

• Drive code standards & architectural norms.
• Own engineering roadmap and architecture.
• Apply best practices in QA, monitoring, and AI usage.
• Participate in code reviews to maintain quality.
• Run day-to-day agile ceremonies and manage sprint planning.
• Improve team communication, rituals, and updates.
• Report progress against the roadmap to Product Manager.
• Translate product requirements into actionable engineering tickets.
• Collaborate with Product to align product strategy.
