Qualifications

  • Must have strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills.
  • Experience with AC electrical equipment, wiring, and electrical safety is preferred.
  • 2-year degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent work experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Become familiar with Liberty Pumps assembly techniques and equipment and provide technical support as needed.

Job description

  • Become familiar with Liberty Pumps assembly techniques and equipment and provide technical support to these areas as needed.
  • Develop competence related to applicable certification requirements (CSA, UL, etc.) and participate in development and execution of test plans.
  • Conduct activities related to assembly of products for development, validation, and certification testing.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of laboratory build and test equipment, tools, and facilities.
  • Help coordinate and manage production testing for LEP and Commercial products.
  • Participate in customer tours and product demonstrations as needed.
  • Help coordinate testing activities to optimize utilization of equipment and resources.
  • Participate in development and maintenance of build and test procedures and ensure conformance to them.
  • Champion for Laboratory 5S and Safety.
  • Become familiar with Liberty Pumps product line and their respective markets.
  • Become familiar with Liberty Pumps ISO 9001 Forms & Work Instructions as they pertain to his/her efforts.
  • Become proficient in use of Liberty’s ERP system and other resources used for BOMs, revisions info, etc.
  • Assist team in various development efforts and provide feedback related to design, quality, and assembly.
  • Become familiar with the Liberty Pumps Quality statement.
  • Develop and maintain an open, professional working relationship with all internal Liberty Pumps departments and individuals, as well as external vendors and partners as required.
  • Become familiar with all Liberty processes required for tracking projects, documents, etc.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • You will be expected to perform in compliance with ISO 9001 requirements.
  • You will be responsible for following safety guidelines, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and using good safety judgment. You will be expected to report all unsafe activities and conditions to the Supervisor and/or Safety Representative.

Minimum Qualifications:

Self-motivated, organized, strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge related to pumps or similar rotating equipment, solid planning and problem-solving skills. Experience with AC electrical equipment, wiring, and knowledge of electrical safety practices preferred.

Education/Training:

A 2-year degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent work experience is required.

Experience/Skills/Abilities:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, engineering drawings, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Familiar with concurrent engineering techniques, design of experiments, design for manufacturing and assembly (DFMA). Skilled at multitasking and willing to work in a fast-paced team environment. Intermediate personal computer skills, including electronic mail, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, etc. Working knowledge of CAD design software and electronics/programming skills preferred. Capable of taking direction as well as working with minimal supervision.

Work Schedule/Hours:

Monday – Friday with typical business hours. Occasional overtime may be necessary when working on special projects. Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%).

Working Conditions:

Well-lighted, heated, and/or air-conditioned indoor office/shop environment with adequate ventilation. Moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities of a primarily production/technical nature. Loud noise (examples: metal can manufacturing department, large earth-moving equipment).
