Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Lead Engineering Lab Assistant to perform hands‑on technical work on engineering products. You will confer with Engineers and lab technicians to build and modify a wide range of products, and work under minimal supervision to support engineers and technicians.

The role requires an AA/AS degree with 10+ years of relevant experience, experience reading prints and schematics, and proficiency with soldering, cables, and inspection processes.

Qualifications

  • AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience reading prints, drawings, and schematics.

Responsibilities

  • Works under minimal supervision to provide technical build support to engineers and technicians on a variety of tasks.
  • Performs moderately complex hands‑on technical tasks that contribute to the completion of engineering projects and products.
  • Works on circuit boards completing repairs, component insertion and replacement, and even inspection.
  • Familiar with soldering techniques, both lead and lead‑free.
  • Builds cables and terminations for a wide variety of circuity types.
  • Understands the engineering inspection and quality process and follows quality procedures.
  • Reads prints, drawings, and schematics as needed to assist in the build process.
  • Uses hand tools, scopes, soldering stations, and other devices with skill and precision.
  • Demonstrates successful soft skills - communication, attitude, leadership, and professionalism.

Qualifications

You Must Have Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. Certification may be required for technical support roles Experience with reading prints, drawings, and schematics.

The salary range for this role is 60,000 USD - 114,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
