Job summary

ARCXIS is seeking an Engineering Job Captain to lead design and execution of engineering projects. You will collaborate with PMs, architects, and staff to deliver high-quality solutions, review drawings, perform site surveys, and coordinate with regulators to secure permits.

The role requires a Civil/Structural background with 5+ years in engineering design, proficiency in CAD and Revit, and strong leadership to guide a team of 4–6 designers in an in-office environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field; experience can substitute.
• Minimum 5 years in engineering design and project management.
• Proficiency in CAD, Revit, and other design software.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Experience leading teams and achieving on-time delivery with low error rates.
• Experience on commercial, institutional, or multi-family residential projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with PMs and design teams to develop engineering solutions meeting deadlines and client requirements.
• Review, redline, and QA drawings, specs, and calculations in CAD, Revit, and Forte.
• Conduct site visits to gather information and assess conditions.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and regulators for approvals.
• Assist in preparing proposals, budgets, and schedules.
• Ensure compliance with codes and industry standards across projects.
• Provide technical guidance and training to designer staff.
• Participate in client and stakeholder meetings to discuss progress.
