Job summary

ARCXIS in Houston seeks an experienced Engineering Manager - Structural Engineering to own customer-facing structural projects from initial needs through final sealed deliverables. This role blends client engagement, scope definition, structural analysis and design, and leadership of a small team.

The position requires a PE license and a Civil/Structural degree, plus experience with residential and townhome construction, wood-frame design, post-tensioned slabs, and code compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited program.
• Active PE license with ability to obtain additional state licenses via comity.
• Experience as a practicing structural engineer on residential or light-frame construction.
• Strong knowledge of wood-frame designs, post-tensioned slabs, wind and seismic design, and codes.
• Experience mentoring EITs and designers.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary engineering contact for assigned customers and define scope.
• Develop proposals, estimate effort, and coordinate onboarding with Sales and Operations.
• Manage projects from kickoff to final sealed deliverables and provide field support.
• Lead and mentor an EIT and a Designer, delegating work and reviewing outputs.
• Ensure design calculations, CAD drawings, and documentation meet quality and code requirements.
• Direct customer and workload reviews and communicate status and risk.
