Job summary

ARCXIS seeks an Engineering Manager – Structural Engineering to own customer-facing projects from initial need to final sealed deliverables. This is a hands-on role combining engineering, scope definition, analysis and design, technical review, responsible charge, project delivery, and leadership of a small team including an Engineer-in-Training and a Designer.

The role supports residential and related work, including townhomes.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited program.
Active PE license; ability to obtain other state licenses.
Experience as a practicing structural engineer in residential or light-frame construction with seal authority.
Strong knowledge of wood-frame design, foundations, post-tensioned slabs, load paths, wind/seismic design, and codes.
Experience defining engineering scope, performing calculations, preparing drawings, and delivering sealed documents.
Experience mentoring EITs, designers, drafters, or other staff and ensuring quality of work.

Responsibilities

Serve as primary engineering point of contact for assigned customers; translate needs into a defined engineering scope.
Develop proposals and scopes of service for structural work; estimate effort for new products and programs.
Manage projects from kickoff to final delivery; establish priorities and due dates with customers and teams.
Perform and direct structural analysis and design for residential construction; ensure accuracy and code compliance.
Review and sign documents issued under the engineer’s seal; maintain licensure compliance.
Supervise an EIT and a Designer; provide direction, feedback and coaching; build team skills.
Maintain CAD workflows, EIT cycles, QA/QC, and on-time delivery; escalate issues as needed.
Respond to field issues, permit comments, and coordination with builders, architects, and specialists.
