Job summary

Summit TRC is seeking motivated students for our Engineering Intern/Co-op program across software engineering, MBSE, systems integration, and DevSecOps. Interns are matched to a team based on background, coursework, and interests, and work on real problems supporting UAS products and other defense programs.

Responsibilities include contributing to real project work, analyzing requirements, and documenting outputs. A strong problem-solving mindset and comfort with Windows/Linux are expected.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical discipline (Junior standing or above).
• US Citizen, able to obtain a Secret or higher security clearance.
• Strong problem-solving instincts and eagerness to learn.
• Comfortable working with Windows and/or Linux and using the command line.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to real project work under the guidance of senior engineers—writing code, supporting requirements development, building models, or assisting with systems integration.
• Assist in analyzing technical requirements and supporting design or architecture decisions.
• Help with documentation such as technical write-ups, test reports, configuration guides, or specifications.
• Participate in testing, integration, or troubleshooting activities alongside cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with engineers, stakeholders, and other interns across disciplines.
• Present your work and contributions to the team at the end of your internship/co-op term.
