Job summary

Farther Farms is seeking an Engineering Intern to join the Rochester, NY R&D facility. You will support the Engineering, Operations, and Product teams in designing, developing, and scaling novel food processing technologies.

The role involves experimental design, data collection, and data analysis to advance equipment development and process optimization. You will work on operating and troubleshooting pilot-scale equipment, documenting results, and contributing to project timelines.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an Engineering degree (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Electrical, or related).
• Demonstrated technical, analytical, and/or quantitative experience.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Interest in manufacturing systems or process engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design, testing, and improvement of food processing equipment and systems.
• Support experimentation and process optimization through data collection, analysis, and documentation.
• Help operate and troubleshoot pilot-scale equipment and instrumentation.
• Document designs, test results, and learnings in clear, organized formats.
• Contribute to cross-functional project updates and timelines.
