Job summary

The Mennel Milling Company invites rising engineering juniors and seniors to join as an Engineering Intern, gaining hands-on experience in plant projects that improve safety, reliability, and efficiency. You will work with engineers, technicians, and operations teams across office and manufacturing settings.

Responsibilities include supporting capital projects from concept to closeout, analyzing data for process improvements, and preparing layouts and documentation.

Qualifications

• Rising junior or senior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering field.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to gather data and develop practical solutions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with CAD or other technical software is a plus.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively in both office and manufacturing environments while adhering to all safety requirements.
• Manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for training, vendor visits, or project support.

Responsibilities

• Supporting capital projects from concept development through installation, commissioning, and project closeout.
• Collecting and analyzing operational data to identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency.
• Creating and updating equipment layouts, process flow diagrams, scopes of work, schedules, and other project documentation.
• Collaborating with engineers, maintenance teams, contractors, vendors, and plant personnel to execute projects successfully.
• Participating in equipment inspections, field measurements, installation oversight, and start-up activities.
• Assisting with continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, reliability, and operational excellence.
