Job summary

Mark Rite Lines Equipment Company (MRL) is seeking a ME/MET Summer Intern in Billings, MT. This is a unique chance to gain hands-on experience in mechanical engineering while working on real-world projects related to high-performance equipment used globally.

As an intern, you'll work across multiple departments, assisting with design and implementation of R&D projects, reverse engineering, and improving existing models. SolidWorks experience is essential, along with proficiency in Office tools.

The internship provides a competitive pay range of $20 - $22 per hour, with weekly pay and the possibility of a full-time offer upon completion.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a relevant program (Mechanical Engineering or Technology).
• Experience with SolidWorks essential.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Design and implement R&D projects.
• Reverse engineer subcomponents.
• Improve BOMs and apply DFM principles.

MRL is a global leader in the design and manufacturing of high‑performance equipment used for traffic paint application, line removal, and surface preparation. As a Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology intern, you’ll get hands‑on experience working across multiple departments while contributing to real engineering and R&D projects.

What You'll Do

• Design and implement R&D projects
• Reverse engineer subcomponents
• Improve BOMs
• Apply DFM principles to older models
• Work with all departments, including engineering, fabrication, assembly, purchasing, etc

Requirements

• Enrolled in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology
• SolidWorks Experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Basic measurement tool skills
