People like you!Job DescriptionGeneral Description:The Engineering Intern works under the guidance of experienced engineers and contributes to various engineering projects and tasks within the company. This role provides valuable hands-on experience and exposure to the engineering field.Essential Functions:Must have the ability & willingness to perform at the expected level of attendance at IKO Glass Fibers, Inc.; to work every day, on time, as scheduled.Promote and maintain IKO safety goals and ensure a safe work environment for all employees. Leads safety and housekeeping efforts and corrective actions within department, assigned projects, and areas with goal of zero incidents. Exemplifies safety in all actions and leads by example.Assist in design and development of products, systems, or components. Which may include drafting, 3D modeling, or prototyping.Conduct research, data analysis, and simulations to support engineering projects and decision-making processes.Participate in testing and quality control procedures to ensure products or systems meet specifications and industry standards. Maintain accurate and organized records of engineering activities, including design documentation, test results, and project reports.Provide technical support to other team members and departments, offering solutions to engineering challenges and troubleshooting issues.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, production staff, and project managers, to ensure project goals are met.Actively engage in learning opportunities, seek mentorship from experienced engineers, and attend relevant training sessions or seminarsOther duties as required.Skills:Enrolled in an accredited engineering program (mechanical, electrical, chemical, or industrial).S trong academic performance and a passion for engineering.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal and presentation), with the ability to effectively work with others in a team environment.Demonstrated initiative and the ability to handle complex assignments with a proactive attitude.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Adaptability and willingness to learn.Organized, self-starter, results oriented, unique problem solver.
