Job summary

Dover Food Retail (DFR) is seeking an Engineering Intern to support ongoing engineering efforts, develop new product designs, and help reduce costs. You will be involved in design verification, manufacturability improvements, and cross-functional collaboration with engineering and lab teams.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in a 4-year engineering program with interest in mechanical design, thermodynamics, and data analysis, and will contribute to multiple projects while expanding hands-on

Qualifications

• Enrollment in 4-year Engineering degree program
• Rising Junior to rising Senior Level progressing towards a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

Responsibilities

• Lead at least 1 engineering project and support other projects as needed
• Use 3D modeling software (SolidWorks) to create and verify part and subsystem designs
• Develop new tools or designs to improve manufacturability and meet customer needs
• Lead cross-functional discussions to translate requirements into actionable test plans
• Manage project schedules and coordinate evaluation testing using mechanical and thermodynamic concepts
• Collaborate with lab personnel to execute product test plans and modify prototypes as required
