Job summary

Rehrig Pacific Company is seeking a Plant Engineering Intern to assist in planning, design, and implementation of equipment, machinery, and automation. The role focuses on creating safe, stable, and reliable manufacturing processes through data analysis and sound engineering practices.

The intern will collaborate with plant resources, apply Lean practices, and work to reduce costs and waste while developing project management and communication skills in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Plastics, Manufacturing or equivalent).
  • Project management experience and familiarity with PM tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience preferred.
  • Experience with coding and programming preferred.
  • Experience with hand and power tools preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead or support engineering, maintenance, tooling, troubleshooting activities.
  • Maintain understanding of plant infrastructure, systems and equipment.
  • Reduce operational waste and costs.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing practices.
  • Provide technical support to the plant and organization.
  • Perform in-depth analyses to understand system gaps and issues.
  • Keep layouts, floor plans, and system schematics up to date.
