Job summary

Prime Controls in Dallas, Texas invites you to join its Engineering Intern program for Summer 2027. You will support design engineers in instrumentation and electrical design, work on PLC, HMI, and SCADA configuration, and participate in FAT and documentation, gaining hands-on experience across data center, energy, semiconductor, and water/wastewater markets.

This full-time summer internship runs about 8–10 weeks at various Prime Controls locations.

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, or a related engineering discipline.
Rising junior or senior standing preferred; in good academic standing.
Coursework or familiarity with controls, circuits, or automation concepts.

Responsibilities

Support design engineers in developing instrumentation and electrical design deliverables, including drawings, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams.
Assist with PLC, HMI, and SCADA configuration and testing under the guidance of senior engineers.
Participate in systems and application engineering tasks, including FAT.
Help compile submittals, technical documentation, and as-built records.
Research components and support procurement and BOM activities.
Attend project meetings and site walkdowns to understand end-to-end project execution.
