Job summary

The Mennel Milling Company is seeking an Engineering Intern to support plant engineering projects at our facilities. You will work alongside engineers, technicians, and operations teams in both office and manufacturing environments to enhance safety, reliability, and efficiency.

You will gain hands-on experience, contribute to capital projects from conception to start-up, and develop practical solutions using CAD and MS Office tools while traveling occasionally for training or project support.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in an engineering field (as stated).
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities with data-driven mindset.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills; ability to communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Support plant engineering projects from concept through installation and closeout.
• Collect and analyze operational data to identify process improvements and efficiency gains.
• Create/update equipment layouts, process flow diagrams, scopes of work, schedules, and project docs.
• Collaborate with engineers, maintenance, contractors, vendors, and plant personnel to ensure project success.
• Participate in equipment inspections, field measurements, and startup activities.
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, and reliability.
