Job summary

The Mennel Milling Company is seeking an Engineering Intern to support plant engineering projects that enhance safety, reliability, efficiency, and quality. You will gain real-world experience in a manufacturing setting, working with engineers, technicians, and operations teams in both office and plant environments.

Responsibilities include assisting with capital projects, data collection/analysis for improvements, and creating/ updating layouts and schedules.

Qualifications

Rising junior or senior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with data-driven mindset.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; CAD or other technical software a plus.
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
Able to work in both office and manufacturing environments with safety compliance.
Willingness to travel occasionally for training or project support.

Responsibilities

Support capital projects from concept through installation and closeout.
Collect and analyze operational data to identify process improvements.
Create/update equipment layouts, process flow diagrams, scopes of work, and schedules.
Collaborate with engineers, maintenance, vendors, and plant personnel.
Participate in equipment inspections, field measurements, and startup activities.
Assist with continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety and quality.
