Job summary

Prime Controls, L.P. is seeking an Engineering Intern to work with our engineering team on real instrumentation and control projects across data center, energy, semiconductor, and water/wastewater markets.

You will gain hands-on experience from design through commissioning, with mentorship, and the chance to contribute to FAT, drawings, panel layouts, and BOM activities during a full-time summer program (8–10 weeks) at multiple Prime locations.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, or a related engineering discipline.
• Rising junior or senior standing preferred; in good academic standing.
• Coursework or familiarity with controls, circuits, or automation concepts.

Responsibilities

• Support design engineers in developing instrumentation and electrical design deliverables, including drawings, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams.
• Assist with PLC, HMI, and SCADA configuration and testing under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Participate in systems and application engineering tasks, including FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing).
• Help compile submittals, technical documentation, and as-built records.
• Research components and support procurement and BOM activities.
• Attend project meetings and site walkdowns to understand end-to-end project execution.
