Job summary

Summit Utilities, Inc. in Lawton, OK seeks an Engineering Intern to join our natural gas engineering team and assist in design, documentation, and project execution. This role supports modernization of the distribution system while gaining hands-on experience.

You will help with drafting construction documents, hydraulic studies, field reviews, data entry in Access/Excel, and coordination with GIS. Current ABET-accredited BS in Engineering is preferred, with a strong GPA and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a full-time student pursuing an ABET-accredited BS in Engineering.
• Strong GPA is preferred for consideration.
• Willing to learn and apply training on CAD/Civil-3D and company software.

Responsibilities

• Assist designers with day-to-day project duties producing construction document deliverables.
• Assist with hydraulic analysis studies to determine design parameters using Gas Modeling Software (in-house training provided).
• Occasional field work to review construction for compliance with standards.
• Record keeping related to gas systems installation and monitoring (GIS coordination, data entry).
• Research historical installation and repair documentation on existing facilities.
• Update Access databases and Excel spreadsheets concerning project status.
