Job summary

UES invites an Engineering Intern to support field investigations, laboratory testing, data analysis, and reporting under experienced engineers. You will gain hands-on exposure across geotechnical, environmental, construction materials testing, and structural engineering projects, contributing to high‑quality client solutions.

You must be enrolled in Civil, Environmental, or Geotechnical programs, with two years of coursework preferred.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Geotechnical or related field.
• Two years of coursework completed preferred.
• Strong engineering fundamentals with interest in fieldwork and testing.
• Effective communication and technical writing expected.
• Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with AutoCAD, GIS or similar software is a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers with field inspections, site assessments, and data collection.
• Perform laboratory testing and help prepare samples for analysis.
• Support drafting technical reports, calculations, and documentation.
• Participate in construction materials testing (soils, concrete, asphalt, steel) under supervision.
• Aid geotechnical investigations, including logging soil borings and well installations.
• Conduct research and gather background information for design.
• Maintain project records and documentation.
• Comply with safety policies and procedures.
