Job summary

UES is seeking an enthusiastic Staff Engineer to join our geotechnical team. In this entry-level role, you will support field and office activities, including site investigations, data collection, and technical reporting.

You will work with experienced engineers and mentors to build a solid foundation in geotechnical engineering. The ideal candidate has a strong academic background in geotechnical or civil engineering and a willingness to learn through hands-on fieldwork.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or related field.
  • 0–3 years of geotechnical engineering experience or internships.
  • EIT certification preferred or obtainable within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Familiarity with geotechnical concepts, testing methods, and soil/rock behavior.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, PLAXIS, GeoStudio, LPILE is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist geotechnical site investigations, including soil/rock sampling and borehole logging.
  • Support evaluation of subsurface conditions by analyzing field and laboratory data.
  • Prepare technical reports and figures and assist drafting recommendations.
  • Collaborate with project engineers and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Learn geotechnical software for analysis and reporting.
