Job summary

The Toro Company in Beatrice, Nebraska is seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineering intern for its 2027 Summer Internship Program. You will join a multi-disciplinary team to design, develop, and test components and systems, and gain hands-on experience across mechanical, electrical, and software domains.

The program runs May 17 to August 6, 2027, with a hourly pay range of $22–$28. Interns receive volunteer time, dress-for-day flexibility, and competitive compensation, along with an Equal

  • Work within a multi-discipline team to design and develop components and systems (mechanical, electrical, electromechanical, software programming).
  • Product documentation including Creo solid modeling, print creation, release process.
  • Source, build and evaluate prototype designs.
  • Perform evaluations (physical and FEA) by collecting and analyzing data and report results to the team.
  • Collaborate across all functions of the business and learn about what it takes to be a great team.

The 2027 Summer Internship Program will run from May 17, 2027, through August 6, 2027. Candidates must be available to start on May 17 and participate through the duration of the program.

What Do You Need?

To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:

  • Must be pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline at an accredited college or university and be entering junior year or higher.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills are required to work effectively across design, test, manufacturing, and marketing teams.
  • Experience designing, developing, testing, or operating off-road equipment is a plus.
