Job summary

The Toro Company is offering a 2027 Summer Internship Program in Beatrice, Nebraska. The internship runs May 17 to August 6, 2027, with a start date of May 17.

Interns must be legally authorized to work in the United States; sponsorship is not provided. Selected candidates will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and evaluate mechanical, electrical, and software systems, perform CAD modeling and data analysis, and gain hands-on experience in prototype development.

  • Enrolled in an ABET-accredited Engineering program.
  • Strong mechanical systems proficiency.
  • Excellent reasoning and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines while balancing multiple priorities.
  • Experience with MS Office and CAD software.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop integrated mechanical, electrical, and software systems.
  • Create Creo-based modeling, drawings, and documentation.
  • Build and evaluate prototype designs.
  • Conduct evaluations using lab testing, simulations, and data analysis.
  • Document findings and report to stakeholders.
  • Support cross-functional relationships to meet project goals.

The 2027 Summer Internship Program will run from May 17, 2027, through August 6, 2027. Candidates must be available to start on May 17 and participate through the duration of the program.

What Will You Do?

In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop integrated mechanical, electrical, and software systems.
  • Responsible for Creo-based modeling, drawing creation, and documentation release.
  • Build and evaluate prototype designs.
  • Conduct evaluations using lab testing, FEA, and engineering simulations.
  • Perform data collection and analysis, reporting findings to stakeholders.
  • Build cross-functional relationships to support team success and shared goals.

What Do You Need?

To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:

  • Majoring in an ABET accredited Engineering program required.
  • Proficient in mechanical systems with a strong commitment to continuous learning and application.
  • Strong reasoning and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines through effective task prioritization.
  • Experience with MS Office and CAD software.
