Job summary

Plains seeks talented engineering interns for a 3‑month program based in our downtown Houston office, commencing May 17, 2027. You will work with engineering teams on data gathering, analysis, and reporting to support asset performance and regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidates are pursuing Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Industrial, or Petroleum Engineering degrees, with strong Excel/PowerPoint/SharePoint skills and a collaborative, entrepreneurial mindset.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Industrial, or Petroleum Engineering.
• Previous internship or work experience is asset.
• Analytical, creative, collaborative and entrepreneurial mindset.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication; excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support engineering teams in data gathering, analysis and presentation related to infrastructure and operations.
• Contribute to evaluation and development of engineering solutions that support asset performance, safety and regulatory compliance.
• Create and update technical reports using Microsoft tools, Oracle and SharePoint.
• Support process improvement initiatives by applying engineering principles and leveraging available technologies.
• Develop understanding of engineering workflows and the role of the business group within the organization.
• Complete assigned tasks and deliverables as outlined for the term.
• Present findings and outcomes from an assigned project at internship end; attend internal and external meetings.
