Qualifications

  • Full internship term from May to August.
  • Valid US Driver's License.
  • U.S. Citizen status.
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.75.
  • Proficiency in Excel and AutoCAD preferred.
  • Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Ocean, Marine, Electrical or Naval Architecture.
  • Familiarity with ABS Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Management System.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with engineering design review and analysis assignments.
  • Support detailed engineering review of plans for compliance with ABS Rules and contracts.
  • Communicate workload status to team members to meet client needs.
  • Propose technical advice to field operations and other technical offices.
  • Suggest new approaches to problems and changes in methods or designs.
  • Assist in developing business performance metrics and monitoring programs.
  • Contribute to writing and presenting technical papers and reports.
  • Participate in Rule development projects as assigned.
  • Collaborate with digital teams and other departments such as services, class, project management, and commercial operations.
  • Assist with data collection efforts for data quality improvement.
