Job summary

Oerlikon Group in Plymouth, MI is seeking an Engineering Intern to gain hands-on experience in vacuum/inert induction melting, gas atomization, and powder downstream processing. The intern will create AutoCAD renderings, update plant layouts, and compile information on critical process measuring devices, while delivering a process improvement proposal by internship end.

You will work with Process/Project Engineers on manufacturing improvement projects, prepare summaries, and adhere to safety,

Qualifications

Pursuing bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder.
Eagerness to work with dirty, noisy, and hot equipment when help is needed.

Responsibilities

Full AutoCAD renderings of physical hardware components.
Updating plant layout drawings in AutoCAD.
Updating instrument calibration catalogue to include missing instruments (flow meters, thermocouples, etc.).
Designing and proposing organization structure for Engineering files.
Implementation of structure if approved.
Assist Process/Project Engineers with manufacturing process improvement projects.
Prepare project summaries.
Follow all company safety, environmental, and quality standards.
