Job summary

LPU Batangas is offering an internship for engineering students to assist with overhead transmission line design and related drafting tasks. You will support PLS-CADD modeling, line routing, structure analysis, and prepare design packages under supervision.

Ideal candidates are pursuing an ABET‑accredited Bachelor's in Civil, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering, with familiarity in AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS, or PLS-CADD, and a keen eye for detail and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a ABET‑accredited Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS, or PLS-CADD.
• Basic understanding of design codes such as NESC, IEEE, ANSI, and IBC.
• Strong attention to detail and interest in power delivery systems.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and take initiative in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers with overhead transmission line design, including PLS-CADD modeling, line routing, and structure analysis.
• Support drafting and mapping using AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS, or similar software.
• Implement engineering redlines and ensure drawing accuracy.
• Perform basic engineering calculations such as sag-tension analysis and pole loading checks under supervision.
• Help prepare documentation, reports, and design packages for project deliverables.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to develop and refine engineering solutions.
• Participate in design reviews, field data collection, and technical meetings.
• Maintain organized records of design data, drawings, and project notes.
• Work approximately 40 hours per week during the internship period.
