Job summary

Cascades is offering an Engineering Intern position at our Bear Island facility in Ashland, VA. You will analyze production and maintenance issues to support continuous improvement, perform root cause analyses, and help optimize equipment and chemistry processes.

The role requires current enrollment in an engineering program and comfort with manufacturing data and reporting tools. You will work with operators, technicians, and engineers in a hands-on environment with opportunities for

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an Engineering program (Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Electrical, or related).
• Comfortable working with computers, manufacturing data, and reporting tools.
• Demonstrates problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Able to take initiative and contribute to team objectives.

Responsibilities

• Analyze production and maintenance issues to support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Complete root cause analyses and recommend corrective actions.
• Monitor equipment performance and assist with troubleshooting activities.
• Support chemistry optimization projects and participate in chemical trials.
• Collect, analyze, and report manufacturing data to support operational decision-making.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment; assist with other engineering and operational projects.
