Job summary

Cascades in Rockingham, US, is seeking a Project Manager to lead industrial capital projects from concept to commissioning across multiple mill sites. You will oversee the capital investment portfolio and drive alignment with the Capital Investment Committee.

The role requires an engineering degree (Mechanical/Industrial/Electrical/Chemical or related) with 8–12+ years of experience in capital project management, preferably in heavy manufacturing, plus strong knowledge of PMBOK and FEL.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in a related field.
• PMP or equivalent certification is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of PMBOK, Stage-Gate, or FEL methodologies.
• Experience leading multiple concurrent CAPEX projects.
• Experience delivering projects of $2M+ in heavy manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead industrial capital projects from concept to commissioning.
• Manage capital investment portfolio and advise CAPIC.
• Oversee project governance: scope, budget, schedule, risk, documentation.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams and contractors.
• Provide strategic visibility on progress, risks, and financials.

Your Role

Lead industrial capital projectsfrom concept to commissioning across multiple U.S. mill sites.

Manage capital investment portfolioby evaluating, prioritizing, and recommending initiatives to the Capital Investment Committee.

Oversee project governanceincluding scope, budget, schedule, risk management, and documentation.

Coordinate cross-functional teams and contractorsto ensure alignment and successful project execution.

Provide strategic visibilityon project progress, risks, and financial performance.

Support mill operationsthrough technical troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives.

Implement engineering and equipment best practicesto optimize performance and drive innovation.

Travel

• Occasional travel to U.S. mills and supplier locations is required.
• On‑site presence may be necessary during construction phases and planned shutdowns.

Experience and Requirements:

• Engineering degree (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Chemical, or related field).
• Professional designation (P.Eng or equivalent) ― strong asset.
• PMP certification — an asset.
• A combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
• 8–12+ years of experience in industrial capital project management (pulp & paper or continuous process manufacturing is a strong asset).
• Proven ability to lead multiple concurrent CAPEX projects from concept to commissioning.
• Experience delivering projects of $2M+ in a heavy manufacturing environment.
• Experience with SAP or similar CMMS.
• Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and challenge technical decisions.
• Strong track record of on‑budget and on‑schedule project delivery.
• Strong knowledge of PMBOK, Stage‑Gate, or FEL project methodologies.
• Strong understanding of industrial equipment, utilities, and process systems.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Advanced English (written & spoken).
• Strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.
