Job summary

Sulzer Pumps (US) Inc. seeks a Mechanical Design Intern to support testing and data collection, and assist with drafting in NX for ongoing projects.

The role is full-time during the summer and half-time during the school year, offering hands-on experience, on-the-job training, and networking opportunities within a global engineering environment.

Qualifications

• Freshman year of a BSc Mechanical Engineering degree is completed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and analytical abilities.
• Proficient with Word and Excel for data handling.
• Familiarity with 2D/3D CAD tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support testing and data collection activities.

About the role

Job Summary: The Student or Intern is responsible for supporting administrative or operational tasks while gaining practical experience. This role follows specific instructions and procedures and is designed to provide learning opportunities in a structured environment.

Position

Mechanical Design Intern

Position is full-time during the summer. Half time during the school year.

Essentials functions

• Hands-on support of component testing and data collection.
• Drafting support using NX 3D/2D system.
• Engineering support work for projects as assigned.
• Release of drawings / documents through SAP & Teamcenter ERP systems.

Secondary responsibilities

• Adheres to company and department policies, procedures, and standards
• Supports, cooperates with, and participates in company-wide ESG & EHS Management systems, which includes following all safety, health and environmental policies and procedures. Supports and cooperates in company-wide Quality Management effort.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Completion of freshman year of BSc Mechanical Engineering degree.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills.
• Sound computer skills in Word and Excel.
• Experience with 2D and 3D CAD systems
• An Interest in rotating machinery and manufacturing is beneficial.
