Job Summary

The Jr. Machinery Mechanic is responsible for assisting in the maintenance and repair of industrial machinery under close supervision. This entry-level role supports senior mechanics in diagnosing issues, performing basic repairs, and ensuring equipment is safe and operational. This job profile is intended for entry-level support staff who follow specific instructions and procedures, with supervision provided for non-routine situations. Tasks can be carried out after basic training or demonstration. This job and its associated grade are specifically aligned with roles that have the following scope of responsibility: Small, Medium, Large, Division / Extra Large organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in inspecting and maintaining machinery and mechanical systems.
• Perform basic repairs and part replacements.
• Support preventive maintenance routines.
• Clean and organize tools and work areas.
• Follow safety procedures and report hazards.
• Document maintenance activities.
• Learn and apply mechanical troubleshooting techniques.

Skills & Qualifications

• May require basic vocational training (or equivalent work experience) and the ability to carry out assigned tasks after initial instruction or demonstration.
• Basic mechanical aptitude.
