Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Engineering Intern to join the Buildings and Places team in Honolulu, HI. This internship offers hands-on experience in engineering design, analysis, and infrastructure projects under the supervision of a licensed engineer.

You'll build analytic and design skills, create drawings and calculations, collect and analyze data, and learn software tools like AutoCAD and MicroStation while working within budget and schedule.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering focusing on buildings and places; must have completed at least two years of study.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License to visit project sites.
  • Must pass Motor Vehicle Records review.

Responsibilities

  • Build analytic and design skills.
  • Conduct engineering design under supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Create designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under supervision.
  • Collect and analyzes data under supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Use computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
  • Perform work per agreed budget and schedule under supervision.

Job Description

Qualifications
  • Candidates must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree incivil engineering focusing on buildings and places, and/or other related fields, andmust have completed at leasttwo yearsof study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with a master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.
  • As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Assist in the production of all phases of the design process.
  • General knowledge of architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Some Knowledge of AutoCAD and MicroStation.
  • Knowledgeable in the Microsoft Office Suite of programs.
  • Well organized and possesses an innovative mindset.
