Job summary

W.R. Case and Sons Cutlery Company is seeking an on-site intern in Bradford, PA to support engineering efforts. You will develop experiments to improve processes and products, document results, and propose corrective actions.

Proficiency with MS Office and familiarity with AutoCAD helps in preparing reports and drawings. You will read engineering drawings, test new equipment, and monitor process issues, providing timely recommendations.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology with at least one year of engineering credits.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of Microsoft AX ERP is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and conduct experiments to improve processes and products.
• Formulate corrective action reports and implement approved changes.
• Research new processes, operations and equipment; set up and test new equipment.
• Prepare memos, reports and engineering documentation; create charts and graphs.
• Read engineering drawings and related documentation; apply MS Word, Excel, Outlook, AutoCAD.
• Monitor problems with processes and equipment and recommend actions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Having detailed direction, supervisor accessibility, and regularly scheduled performance feedback:

• Develop and conduct a variety of experiments to improve current processes and develop new processes or products.
• Formulate corrective action reports based on testing and research. Recommend design and/or process changes and implement design or process changes as approved.
• Research new processes, operations, and manufacturing equipment.
• Set-up and test new equipment and process as deemed appropriate.
• Prepare memos, reports, and other engineering related documentation.
• Use computer and necessary software to write reports. Develop spreadsheet, charts table, graphs to support reports written.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and other engineering related documentation including charts and formulas (application of, as appropriate, MS Word – Excel – Outlook – AutoCAD – etc.)
• Monitor and record problems with process and mechanical equipment and recommend corrective action.
• Perform any other duties related in nature which may be assigned.

EDUCATION AND ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology with a minimum of one year engineering credits within the desired discipline
• Demonstrated Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Knowledge of Microsoft AX operating system preferred
