Job summary

Kraft Group LLC is seeking an Engineering Intern to assist the mill engineering team under the guidance of the engineering manager. You will interact with the maintenance, project, and process engineers to support project and process improvements.

The role involves cross-referencing P&IDs, updating CMMS, analyzing process data with Operations, and tracking BOD changes, while adhering to safety and privacy guidelines.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Paper Science Engineering.
• Familiarity with statistical analysis.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and Adobe.
• Able to detail basic P&IDs.
• Good communication both verbal and written.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and on multiple assignments at a time.
• Able to work effectively both individually and within groups.

Responsibilities

• Cross-reference in-process equipment with P&IDs to support troubleshooting and system analysis.
• Collaborate with the Maintenance team to update CMMS, ensuring accurate spare part listings align with P&ID documentation.
• Work with mill operators to identify process components to support system mapping and documentation efforts.
• Partner with Operations to analyze process data, develop recommendations, and help coordinate implementation of process improvements.
• Review operational trends to identify process deficiencies and continuously update process targets to reflect new parameters and revised control limits.
• Assist in tracking BOD changes across the mill and support documentation for BOD-related meetings and reports.
• Adhere to all safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Maintain and control all personally identifiable information or other data protected by Confidentiality/Privacy Standards or Company Policies.

Job description

SUMMARY: Works under the direction of the engineering manager to assist the mill in developing and implementing project and process improvements. The engineering intern will interact with the mill maintenance team, project engineer and process engineer to complete tasks.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Cross-reference in-process equipment with Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) to support troubleshooting and system analysis.
2. Collaborate with the Maintenance team to update the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), ensuring accurate spare part listings align with P&ID documentation.
3. Work with mill operators as necessary to identify process components to support system mapping and documentation efforts.
4. Partner with Operations to analyze process data, develop recommendations, and help coordinate implementation of process improvements.
5. Review operational trends to identify process deficiencies and continuously update process targets to reflect new parameters and revised upper and lower control limits.
6. Assist in tracking Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) changes across the mill and support documentation efforts for BOD-related meetings and reports.
7. Adhere to all safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures.
8. Responsible for the maintenance, creation, and control of all personally identifiable information or any other information protected by any Confidentiality or Privacy Standards or Company Policies that you have access to or knowledge of, including but not limited to any state or federal regulations including HIPPA.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

1. Working toward a Bachelor in Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Paper Science Engineering
2. Familiarity with statistical analysis
