Job summary

Geologist / Engineering Geologist role based in Durham, permanent, full-time. You will support planning, supervision and delivery of ground investigation works on site and in the office, logging samples, preparing records and assisting with reporting.

Ideal candidate has minimum 2 years UK GI experience, a geology degree, and proven ability to work safely with drilling teams, subcontractors and clients. Travel to project locations will be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years UK ground investigation experience.
• Degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, Earth Science or related field.
• Experience supervising intrusive ground investigation works.
• Ability to log soil and rock to geotechnical standards.
• Knowledge of GI techniques and site investigation records.

Responsibilities

• Supervise ground investigation works on site.
• Attend sites, supervise drilling, log samples and prepare records.
• Assist with laboratory scheduling and reporting.
• Prepare site plans, schedules and photographs for reports.
• Communicate clearly with project managers and clients.
