Job summary
Penguin Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer in York. This role is ideal for a graduate or candidate with up to one year of experience to develop within a supportive consultancy.
You will work on ground investigations, contaminated land projects, environmental monitoring and reporting across the UK, with a focus on growth and career development. The position includes training, mentoring and chartership support.
Qualifications
- Degree in Geology, Geo-Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Earth Sciences or related subject.
- Willingness to work outdoors and travel across the UK.
- Strong communication and report writing skills.
- Ground investigation or contaminated land experience is beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Assist with ground investigations across the UK
- Soil and rock logging
- Groundwater and ground gas monitoring
- Support Phase I and Phase II assessments
- Environmental and geotechnical sampling
- Assist with contaminated land and remediation projects
- Prepare technical reports
- Maintain project records and documentation
- Support data interpretation and client liaison

The Graduate Geotechnical Engineer will work across ground investigation, contaminated land, environmental monitoring and technical reporting projects throughout UK.
