Job summary

Amentum is seeking Engineering Geologists and Geotechnical Engineers in the UK to support a range of projects across the lifecycle, applying engineering geological and geotechnical judgement to manage ground-related risks. The role offers hybrid working across office, site, and home-based environments with opportunities to progress to chartership, engage with clients, and contribute to bids.

Candidates should have a degree in a relevant field, field experience, and willingness to travel; Harwell

Qualifications

Degree in Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, or Civil Engineering.
Postgraduate qualification (MSc/PhD) would be advantageous but not essential.
Chartership with a relevant body beneficial for Senior role.

Responsibilities

Prepare geotechnical/engineering geological desk studies, and ground models.
Plan and supervise land and overwater ground investigations with proper scopes and docs.
Field mapping, geomorphological assessment and walkovers.
Logging and interpretation of soil and rock per standards.
Prepare ground investigation, factual and interpretative reports and assessments.
Develop and refine ground models, identify hazards and constraints.
Assess geological, hydrogeological and geotechnical information for project teams.
Geotechnical design for foundations, walls, slope stabilization and ground improvement.
Advise on ground conditions and risks to multidisciplinary teams.
Support bids, proposals and scopes of work.
