Design and provide on-site installation, commissioning, preventative maintenance, diagnostic and repair of Holu Hou systems and products including but not limited to, various types of energy storages, PV, power electronics, mechanical systems, and low voltage electrical power systems (AC and DC) related to renewable energy systems.Person will be expected to further develop and provide training materials for 3rd party installation and be the front-line support.
This person must have a strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical principles and have familiarity with power electronics, and IT related systems. This person must be able to travel domestically and internationally up to 50-75 percent without travel restrictions (including weekends and long periods of time as needed).
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Perform service tasks at the direction of management and/or engineering at various offsite locations (domestic and international).
- Design and layout best practice for wiring, conduit routing and equipment installations.
- Troubleshoot and identify issues to determine the appropriate corrective action to repair systems and or equipment.
- Onsite commissioning and inspection of equipment in accordance with Holu Hou, customer specifications and local/state inspectors.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance tasks including cleaning, diagnostics and repair, and calibrating.
- Interpret maintenance manuals, schematics, piping and instrument diagrams, mechanical drawings, and wiring diagrams to be able to commission, maintain, diagnose and or repair equipment.
- Assist in the development of installation and troubleshooting procedures and operating manuals.
- Prepare daily reports for work performed in the field.
- Expect to be On-call / Emergency Response after hours.

Required Education, Systems, Experience, and Specific Job-Related Skills
Education
Technical degree (AS or BS) in any of the following: Electrical Power, Power Electronics, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experiences.
Office Suite (s)
Microsoft Office Tools: Word, Excel & PowerPoint and/or equivalent Google Suites
Experience Preferred
3-5 years.
Knowledge & Skills Required
- Knowledge of electrical power and mechanical principles.
- Knowledge of electrical, mechanical or chemical safety procedures.
- Familiarity with NEC and NFPA codes.
- Worked with local / state level inspectors and familiar with HECO & CPUC regulations.
- Familiarity with permitting, local codes and regulations.
- Familiarity with electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes and multi-meters.
- Familiarity with communication and control protocols.
- Being able to identify problems, develop & evaluate options, and implement solutions.
- Familiarity with energy storage systems: inverters, switchgear, batteries and/or PV panels.
Physical Requirements
- May have to do heavy lifting and work in a variety of positions (up to 50lbs).
- May require to work on roofs and elevated positions.

- Preferred Certifications: OSHA 30, OSHA 24 Fall Protection, Aerial Lift Certification, Forklift Certification and/or First Aid/CPR
Work Activities
- Travel up to 50-75% domestic and/or international.
- Be able to travel on short notice without travel restrictions.
- Be able to work in the field for extended periods of time or weekends as needed.
- Work in environments, exposed to noise, dirt, vibration, and various weather conditions.
- Be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment including safety glasses, respirators, boots in accordance with company policies and other PPE that may be required for the site conditions such as hard hats and/or full arc flash suit.
- Sit and/or stand for a long period of time.
- Work extended hours.
- Be able to design and enforce best wiring practices which includes but not limited to high voltage/low voltage, shielding, grounding, crimping, and splicing.
- Operate a computer and utilize basic office suites.
- Setup Wi-Fi connections, IP addresses and be familiar with communication connections, e.g. hardwired / Bluetooth.
