Job summary

The College of Southern Maryland invites applications for a faculty position in mechanical engineering. Faculty will teach 30 credits annually, maintain five office hours weekly, and engage in advising, committee work, and program assessment.

Responsibilities include lecturing, laboratory and project-based instruction, developing curricula, and fostering industry partnerships to support workforce development across campus locations.

Qualifications

• Requires engineering degree and relevant teaching experience.
• Experience collaborating with industry partners and workforce programs.
• Preferred: demonstrated ability to develop curriculum and assessment.

Responsibilities

• Teach mechanical engineering and related disciplines (lecture, lab, project-based).
• Maintain at least five office hours per week and publish schedules.
• Advise and mentor students; participate in committees and program reviews.
• Facilitate industry engagement and partnerships supporting student success.
• Maintain safe labs and participate in institutional service activities.
