Job summary

Greystone of Lincoln, Inc. — Machining Division is seeking a Purchasing Manager in Lincoln, RI to lead sourcing, supplier management, and material/tooling procurement with a focus on engineering-informed decisions.

You will own supplier performance, manage cost and lead-time risk, and collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Operations on make-vs-buy and supplier qualification. The ideal candidate has a technical engineering background, reads drawings and specs, and is proficient with MRP/ERP

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Ability to read and evaluate engineering drawings, material specifications, and tolerances to assess supplier capability.

Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing and procurement of raw material, tooling, outside services, and capital equipment, evaluating suppliers on technical capability and quality history, not price alone.
• Own supplier performance management: on-time delivery, quality reject rate, lead-time trends, and pricing history.
• Investigate and explain significant price or lead-time changes from suppliers with engineering-grade analysis.
• Qualify and onboard alternate suppliers for critical materials and tooling to reduce single-source risk.
• Partner with Engineering on tooling specification, make-vs-buy decisions, and technical evaluation of new equipment or automation proposals.
• Partner with Quality on supplier corrective action and nonconforming material issues.
• Own ERP-driven purchasing to reflect actual demand and lead times.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contract purchases for key materials and tooling.
• Manage purchasing budget and report spend, cost variance, and supplier risk.
• Ensure purchasing practices comply with ISO 9001/AS9100 and ITAR/CMMC where applicable.
