Job summary

Actalent is seeking an experienced Engineering Document Control & Configuration Manager to lead document control and CM activities within a growing manufacturing organization. This role owns engineering data management, administers the PDM environment, and supports ERP integration to ensure documentation is accurate and compliant throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in engineering document control, configuration management, or PDM administration.
• Experience in manufacturing or engineer-to-order environments.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings and CAD documentation.
• Experience with ERP or business management systems.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 documentation requirements.
• Experience supporting engineering, fabrication, and production teams.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to lead process improvements and train internal stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Technical Management, or related field preferred.
• ETO (Engineer-to-Order) manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage engineering document control and records management processes.
• Administer and maintain the PDM environment, including workflows, permissions, revisions, and lifecycle management.
• Control the release, revision, archival, and distribution of engineering documentation.
• Manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), redlines, and as-built documentation.
• Ensure document control processes align with quality and compliance standards.
• Support integration between engineering systems and ERP.
• Develop document templates, naming conventions, and metadata standards.
• Train internal users on document control procedures and best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams to improve information flow and data accuracy.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives related to documentation and configuration management.
