Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Sr. Director of Software Engineering in Finance Tech to lead multiple software teams delivering customer-facing apps, RESTful microservices, and Java-based back-end systems. You will mentor engineers and work with product managers on capabilities and tests, while advancing modern architectures.

You will drive agile practices, deploy to AWS, and transform monoliths into microservices, ensuring scalability, availability and rapid delivery of value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• ≥9 years of software engineering experience.
• ≥7 years in people management.
• Master’s degree in CS or Software Engineering preferred.
• 13+ years of software engineering experience preferred.
• 8+ years experience with Agile practices.
• Concrete experience applying AI to productivity and automation.
• Experience with financial systems integration (Workday/PeopleSoft) preferred.
