Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Sr Director of Software Engineering to lead multiple engineering teams and drive the development of customer-facing web/mobile apps and backend services on a modern stack.

You will mentor engineers, partner with product managers, and push for best practices, scalability and cloud adoption across Agile teams, while fostering innovation and diverse collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
• 9+ years’ experience in software development.
• 7+ years’ experience in people management.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and grow multiple teams of product focused software engineers.
• Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of engineers on your team.
• Work with product managers to understand desired application capabilities and testing scenarios.
• Continuously improve software engineering practices.
• Work with Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support full-stack solutions.
• Lead the craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability of your solutions.
• Encourage innovation and diversity while mentoring other engineers.
