Job summary

BSA seeks a strategic Director of Engineering to lead mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and low-voltage disciplines across healing, learning, and discovery projects.

You will drive technical excellence, mentor teams, and manage staffing and performance while partnering with architecture and planning to deliver integrated solutions. This is a senior leadership role in a growing, employee-owned firm offering a collaborative culture and hybrid work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering; licensure required.
• 15+ years in the A/E industry with discipline leadership experience.
• Strong business acumen with ability to manage metrics like utilization, profitability, and project delivery.
• Proven success building and leading high-performing teams.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Collaborative, accountable leadership style with an ownership mindset.
• Proficiency with CAD/Design tools and related software.

Responsibilities

• Oversee engineering operations including staffing, project delivery, and financial performance.
• Lead, manage, and hold Engineering Leads accountable, fostering a high-performing environment.
• Ensure consistent execution of core project delivery processes to drive quality, client satisfaction, and profitability.
• Align discipline capacity with project demand, managing utilization, revenue, and growth.
• Partner with firm leadership to identify hiring needs and build a future-ready talent pipeline.
• Mentor and develop staff to support career growth and project success.
• Promote ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement across the discipline.
